Mass. weather: More sun, thawing temps ahead

Massachusetts residents can celebrate another day of thawing temperatures, as Thursday will bring above-freezing conditions throughout most of the state.

Boston and Cape Cod and & the Islands will reach high temperatures of 34 degrees in the afternoon, while Worcester and Springfield will touch 33 degrees. The Berkshires will be slightly colder, with Pittsfield topping out at 26 degrees.

No precipitation is expected, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will drop to the teens overnight for most of the state. Boston will experience a low of 16 degrees, Worcester will be 14 degrees, Springfield will drop to 10 degrees and Pittsfield will be 6 degrees.

Friday will see similar conditions during the day, with a slight chance of scattered snow showers overnight in some areas, according to the National Weather Service. Current predictions call for a 20% chance of snow, with little to no accumulation.

The weekend should bring more sun, with afternoon temps getting up into the high 30s on Saturday and Sunday.
