Mass. casino winner: Jackpot won playing fiery slot machine

A Massachusetts casino player won a jackpot worth more than $30,000 in January.

On Jan. 12, a player at Encore Boston Harbor casino hit the a jackpot worth $30,670 playing the game “Ultimate Fire Link.” They had bet $20.

A couple big jackpots were won at the Massachusetts casino last month as two progressive jackpots were hit.

Just hours into 2026, a Quincy man won a life-changing amount of money at Encore Boston Harbor — and set a new record at the casino.

The man, who was not named by the casino, was playing “Royal 9 Baccarat” in the early hours of New Year’s Day when he hit the progressive jackpot of $1,620,335.70.

The jackpot prize had been nearing $1.6 million earlier in December. But it continued climbing without a winner.

“The record-setting win adds to the excitement of the holiday celebration and underscores the thrill of high-stakes gaming at the resort,” a press release from the casino states.

The second time the jackpot was hit was on Jan. 17. The jackpot was worth $266,285.08 while playing the same game.

Encore Boston Harbor casino, in Everett, has more than 2,700 slot machines and more than 175 table games.

Players must be 21 years or older.

More than 14,000 jackpots were won on slot machines and table games at the Massachusetts casino in January.

Overall, $40,699,671.04 was paid out across 14,895 total jackpots at Encore Boston Harbor casino. Of those, 14,740 jackpots worth $37,914,459.34 were from slot machines.

The largest slot machine jackpot at Encore Boston Harbor in January was won on Jan. 3. A player bet $20 on the game “Ultimate Fire Link” and won $101,187.

Players also won $2,777,780.41 across 153 table games. And two sports jackpots totaled $7,431.29.
