There is a new leader in the Bay State Conference.
After Tuesday’s 66-61 win over Needham, the Walpole Timberwolves knocked off the Rockets from first place in the rankings.
Star forward Bella Bingham scored 24 points, continuing her great season. She got help from Emily Mulgrew and Tori Adams, who added 13 and 12 points respectively.
Few Division II teams are ready for the playoffs as much as Walpole. The Timberwolves have won seven games in a row and 11 of their last 12. The team’s only conference lost came to Needham back in December.

Even with only a few games left in the regular season, we could still see a shakeup at the top as early as Thursday. After falling two spots, Natick hosts Walpole in both teams’ last conference game of the season.
The Rockets still hold the each over the RedHawks thanks to the overtime win. After starting the year 9-0, Needham has gone 3-5 in its last eight games. Back-to-back losses against Braintree and Walpole facilitated the team’s drop this week.
After a signature win over Natick, Newton North lost to Brookline for the second time this season. The Warriors had three players score in double figures. Jada Kimbro dropped 24 points on the Tigers while Nefeli Aga-Kitch and Skylar Makalusly each had 17.
