Amherst-Pelham girls’ tennis continued its fiery start to the 2025 season on Wednesday afternoon.
They took down the Spartans 3-2 in a close five-set battle.
The top two singles spots set the tone early for the Hurricanes. Katie Gromacki and Emma Learned-Miller each won their games in two sets.
Jamie Bellerose drew back blood for East Longmeadow in the last singles matchup, as she defeated Mahina Ganesun by a final score of 6-2, 6-3 to keep things close.
But it wasn’t enough, as both teams split the doubles points, leading to an Amherst-Pelham victory.
Riding a seven-game winning streak, the Hurricanes will next face Minnechaug on the road on Wednesday, May 7, at 5:30 p.m., while East Longmeadow (6-5) will look to earn its second win in four games on the road against Pope Francis on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
