
Lee softball beat Westfield Technical Academy 12-2 on Wednesday in a game that saw standout pitcher Brianna Lynch record her 800th career strikeout.
In addition to a strong pitching performance that witnessed 18 strikeouts, Lynch also impacted the game at the plate, tallying a pair of hits and two RBI. Lynch now has 816 career strikeouts and counting.
This impressive milestone occurred just over one year after Lynch recorded her 500th career strikeout against Hoosac Valley.
Juliana Schuerer was also a key component of Lee’s offense, notching two hits, two RBIs, and crossed home plate three times.
Kiley Dougherty led the way for WTA with two hits, while Mackenzie Roberts recorded a hit and an RBI.
With the win, the Wildcats move to 4-5 on the season. They have the chance to extend their win streak to three games on Thursday when they host Gateway at 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, Westfield Tech moved to 2-7 on the season. But they will have a chance to get back on track at home on Friday against Amherst at 4 p.m.
