After spending much of the summer in a red non-contact uniform, Mapu has still gotten on the field quite a bit early in his career. The hybrid linebacker/safety has played 30% of New England’s defensive snaps and 39% on special teams, registering five tackles in his first two games.

Though players never want to get fined, Mapu’s wasn’t close to the priciest of the day. Denzel Perryman of the Texans was fined $66,666 for unnecessary roughness, while Pittsburgh’s Elandon Roberts and Kwon Alexander were both docked $43,709, and fellow Steelers defender Jaylen Warren was hit for $48,556.

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson picked up three separate fines — two facemasks and a celebration mimicking a gun — totaling $35,513.
