
A 23-year-old man is set to be arraigned Monday on several charges in connection with a fatal shooting in a Dedham parking lot last month, the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office said.
The man, Franci Villar, faces a litany of charges, including armed assault with intent to murder, District Attorney Michael Morrissey said in a statement. He will be arraigned in Dedham District Court on Monday.
The double shooting on June 23 in the parking lot of a BJ’s in Dedham killed 20-year-old Jaylani Cole and left another 20-year-old wounded. An investigation into the shooting is active and ongoing, the district attorney’s office said.
Villar is also charged with assault and battery with a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license and a firearm violation with a prior violent/drug offense.
