Chrysler is recalling some of its Jeep cars because of issues with the second-row seat head restraints not locking, increasing the risk of injury to passengers during a crash.
In total, there are 121,398 cars being recalled with a 1% chance of the headrests not locking, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Jeeps with this issue are the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles with the years 2023 and 2024.
As a remedy, dealers will inspect and replace both second-row seat head restrains, as necessary, free of charge.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 5 of this year.
