The Red Sox saw their 10-game winning streak snapped in their first game back from the All-Star Break as the offense went cold in a 4-1 defeat.

The Cubs opened the scoring with a 3-run homer in the first and never looked back. Roman Anthony plated Jarren Duran in the third to cut the lead to 3-1, but Chicago pushed the lead back to 3 in the sixth and held on for the win.

Boston is still four games back of the AL East lead, sitting at 53-46, one game behind the New York Yankees thanks to having two more losses than their arch rivals.
