NBA announces start time for final Boston Celtics Summer League game

The Boston Celtics will wrap up their Summer League schedule with a tough test on Sunday in Las Vegas. The NBA announced that Boston will take on the undefeated Hawks (4-0) in their final game of the summer at Thomas and Mack Center at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU and NBC Sports Boston.

The Hawks were left out of semifinals in Summer League despite finishing with a 4-0 record due to point differential. They have been led by Kobe Bufkin (19.5 ppg) and first-round pick Asa Newell (13.5 ppg, 8.3 rpg) in Las Vegas heading into their matchup with Boston in the consolation round.

Boston wrapped up their pool play with a 3-1 record after a win over the Lakers on Thursday night. The team will be without Summer League center standout Charles Bassey on Sunday after he left the team before Thursday’s game due to previous commitments.

The Celtics will continue to look for strong efforts from their wings in a tough test against Atlanta. Jordan Walsh has posted a team-high 15.0 points per game and first round-pick Hugo Gonzalez is averaging 11.7 points per game while shooting 37.5 percent from 3-point range.

Sunday’s game will also be the final chance for roster hopefuls like Kenneth Lofton Jr., Kendall Brown and Jalen Bridges to make a final impression on Boston’s brass ahead of training camp.
