Boys Lacrosse State Tournament Roundup: Longmeadow defeats Plymouth South

Division I

No. 4 Andover (20), No. 13 Needham (9)

Needham fell to Andover, 20-9, on the road in the Division I state tournament Round of 16 on Wednesday.

Andover will now play the winner of No. 5 Acton-Boxborough and No. 12 Franklin.

No. 3 Lincoln-Sudbury (10), No. 14 Natick (6)

Natick fell to Lincoln-Sudbury, 10-6, in the Division I state tournament Round of 16 on Wednesday.

The Warriors will now play No. 6 Concord-Carlisle in the quarterfinals.

Division II

No. 1 Billerica (21), No. 16 Agawam (6)

Agawam fell to Billerica, 21-6, in the Division II state tournament Round of 16 on Wednesday.

Billerica will now play No. 8 Walpole in the quarterfinal round.

No. 4 Hingham (12), No. 13 Minnechaug (3)

Minnechaug fell to Hingham, 12-3, in the Division II state tournament Round of 16 on Wednesday.

The Harbormen will now play either No. 5 Mansfield or No. 12 North Andover in the quarterfinal round.

No. 2 Longmeadow (14), No. 15 Plymouth South (5)

Longmeadow boys lacrosse earned a 14-5 win over Plymouth South in the Round of 16 of the Division II state tournament on Wednesday.

The Lancers got out to a strong offensive start, scoring four goals in the first quarter. Despite scoring just a goal in the next quarter, they scored nine total goals in the second half to put a 14 on the board. The offense was led by Myles Chapman and John Mulderig who each scored three goals with Chapman also totaling five assists.

On defense, Longmeadow kept Plymouth South to just five goals with the help of goalie Leigh Chapman, stopping 15 shots in net.

Longmeadow will now take on the winner of No. 17 Marshfield vs. No. 13 Westwood in the quarterfinals
