I prefer “bet and get” deals like this one over “first bet” offers like the one at BetMGM Sportsbook, which only award bonus bets if you lose your first bet. Since bonus bets only pay out the profits if they win, but don’t return the wager value, it’s difficult to win back everything you lost.

On the other hand, DraftKings awards eight $25 bonus bets ($200 total) whether you win or lose your first bet, and you only have to wager $5 to get that bonus. If you lose $5 but win a few of your $25 bonus bets, then you’re very likely to win more than the $5 you lost and end up with a profit.

DraftKings offers more overall value because of the $200+ NFL Sunday Ticket discount, but not everyone benefits if they already subscribe or are not interested. If you fall into that bucket, then FanDuel’s $300 bonus offer is more valuable for you, and it’s better than any other deals currently available.

While it would be better if you didn’t have to win your qualifying wager to get the bonus bets, winning that bet should not be difficult. There is no minimum odds requirement, so you can pick a heavy favorite with odds like -1000 or shorter and have at least a 90% probability of winning.

To find a bet like that, I recommend looking at prop bets on the Red Sox games against the Yankees this weekend. You will have more options for a safe bet than betting on the Patriots‘ preseason game, since preseason betting options are mostly limited to standard game lines like the moneyline or point spread.
