WESTFIELD – The Wyben Parade committee anticipated having 15 tractors at its first annual Lighted Tractor Christmas Parade on Nov. 23, but 42 tractors came from throughout Wyben, Middle Farms and other parts of Westfield, said Harry Rock, who filmed the parade for Westfield Community TV’s Channel 15.
“The Montgomery Fire Department sent down a tanker truck all lit up and the vintage fire truck from the Chester Fire Department was a true hit with its lights and ringing bell,” Rock said. “What was really impressive was how the edge of the roadway was absolutely lined with cars and yards were filled with spectators. The turnout of both participants and spectators took the race organizers by surprise but they were thrilled with the level of support which will surely make this an annual event going forward.”
