A woman in her 40s sustained serious injuries after she was shot in Boston early Monday morning, Massachusetts State Police said.
The woman walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound at 1:34 a.m. Monday, Sgt. Detective John Boyle, a Boston Police spokesman, said in an email. The shooting is believed to have happened near 260 Ruggles St.
State police described the woman’s injuries as serious, adding she was taken to the hospital by a family member.
Boston police homicide detectives were not called to the scene, so the woman’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Boston police notified state police of the shooting on the Southwest Corridor in Boston, which is state property, at around 2 a.m.
The shooting remains under investigation by state police.
Southwest Corridor is a roughly 4-mile park that spans Back Bay to Forest Hills.
