Woman accused of shoving older woman off MBTA bus arrested Wednesday

A woman accused of shoving an older woman off an MBTA bus in Roxbury was taken into custody Wednesday, according to MBTA Transit Police.

Police have not yet named the woman and it’s not clear what charges she might face.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the MBTA bus stop at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Warren Street, which serves bus routes 14, 19, 23 and 28. The woman “violently shoved the victim off [a bus], causing injuries,” Transit Police wrote on X.

The younger woman was with an infant at the time of the assault, according to police.

Surveillance video from the area obtained by WCVB shows a person landing face-first on the sidewalk after being pushed out of the bus. Video from inside the bus posted by the station shows the younger woman appear to push the older woman out of the doorway, then throw a shopping cart onto her.
