Pioneer Valley’s Luci Burnap hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to push the Blue Devils past Northampton, 11-10, on Friday, completing a five-run comeback.
Burnap finished the game 1-for-4 from the plate with a run scored and a RBI. Jaelyn Boliski struck out seven in the circle for the Panthers. Emily Kajka struck out eight for Northampton.
Taylor Chase led the team in RBI with three. Her three-run triple in the bottom of the seventh inning kick-started Pioneer Valley’s rally, making it a three-run game with no outs on the board.
Layla Goulston and Luci Burnap also had two RBI. Seven players finished the game with at least one run batted in for the Panthers.
Northampton also had solid offensive production. Ella Daillie had two RBI alongside a RBI each from Greta Lapore, Talia Garretson and Jayda Alejandro.
Northampton will play Athol on Monday at 4 p.m., while Pioneer Valley will play on Monday at 4 p.m. against Hopkins Academy.
