What’s happening with Tom Brady’s flagship business, and his longtime guru?

It appears that TB12 Sports will soon be taking a new form — where the “TB” won’t stand for “Tom Brady” anymore.

This comes amid rumblings of change for the sports training company that marked the former New England Patriots quarterback’s first high-profile business venture outside and with his longtime business partner/health guru Alex Guerrero.

According to an email obtained by WEEI, TB12 Sports informed clients that it is closing its location in Foxborough and will be reopening as a different business, TBRx, Total Body Recovery. The email makes no mention of Brady or his involvement in the company.

Other TB12 Sports locations have already begun to rebrand as TBRx. A phone call placed to what had been TB12 Performance & Recovery Tampa confirmed that the business is now TBRx.

Earlier this week, Boston sports personality Dale Arnold floated a report that Brady was no longer working with Guerrero. The Boston Globe’s Ben Volin reported that Guerrero told him, “Tom and I are still in business together.”

Brady and Guerrero appear to still be close, as evidenced by the two being spotted sitting together at a Las Vegas Aces game the other night. However, the circumstances of the business that they founded together appear to be changing.

Guerrero has been a significant figure in Brady’s life and career. The former quarterback has regularly credited guru for helping develop the “TB12 Method,” the dietary and training program to which he attributed his longevity on the football field.

Guerrero announced back in September that he was breaking ground on a new company called TBRx. The company touts that it is “advancing the TB12 Method” and features a testimonial from Brady. However, Brady was not highlighted as a founder or business partner. Instead, the co-founders were identified as Guerrero as well as Dr. Peter Cummings.

“I have personally witnessed the transformative power of Alex’s Total Body Recovery approach throughout my career. It has been instrumental in keeping me at my peak performance level year after year. TBRx will undoubtedly extend the benefits of this method to many others, allowing them to thrive both on and off the field,” Brady was quoted as saying in a TBRx press release.

TB12 Sports’ online store remains operational, with the company continuing to sell products such as protein powder, supplements and training equipment. However, the TB12 Sports site no longer highlights its body coach programs or brick-and-mortar locations. Additionally, all links that had previously led to information on TB12 Sports locations appear to have been removed entirely.

According to WEEI, TBRx will be opening at a new location in Franklin on Oct. 23 — following the Foxborough location’s closure on Oct. 20. The TBRx website lists five open locations, with Boston and Foxborough not included (though Boston is listed among locations “coming soon.”) TB12 Sports unexpectedly closed its Boston location back in May of 2023.
