WAUWATOSA, Wis. — An officer was dragged by a suspect right before he drove off and led officers on a pursuit, dashcam video shows.

It started when an officer with the Wauwatosa Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a car that had “multiple legal infractions,” according to WITI. Prosecutors said the officer asked the driver, identified as Robert Jobe, 26, to get out of the vehicle due to an outstanding felony warrant.

Dashcam video of the traffic stop shows the officer opening the driver’s side door as Jobe drove away, dragging the officer around 20 feet before the officer was able to free himself from the vehicle.

The suspect then led police on a pursuit that reached speeds in excess of 100 mph, with moments of the suspect driving on the wrong side of traffic, WITI reports.

According to a criminal complaint, officers deployed stop sticks and as Jobe drove over them, he lost two tires. Jobe then ditched the car and left it driving into traffic as he ran off on foot.

Bodycam video shows an officer running and catching up to Jobe. Another officer can be heard ordering Jobe to get on the ground before he was tased and taken into custody.

Jobe has been charged with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, fleeing/eluding police and obstructing an officer, according to court records. He was already under active monitoring by the Department of Corrections for crimes including armed robbery and evading a police officer.
