BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio — A woman suspected in a hit-and-run and driving under the influence was arrested after leading Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers on a short high-speed pursuit that ended in a rollover crash, WKRC reported.
Troopers were monitoring traffic on I-75 on May 29 when they clocked a vehicle speeding at 82 mph in a 65 mph zone.
When they attempted to pull over the driver, she refused to stop. The troopers initiated a pursuit, during which the driver fled at high speeds, cutting across lanes of traffic.
After several minutes, the driver lost control of the vehicle, veering off the right side of the road before overcorrecting. The SUV rolled multiple times and came to rest in the median. A nurse stopped to assist at the scene until emergency crews arrived.
The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and later booked into jail. She faces multiple charges, including operating a vehicle while impaired, failure to comply with a police order and operating a vehicle without reasonable control.
Troopers also reported that the woman was a suspect in a hit-and-run incident that had occurred earlier that day in Montgomery County. The investigation is ongoing.
