Tom Brady was part of both of the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl victories, which had one of his rivals ponder whether Brady is good luck.
“It’s really cool that Tom Brady got to be there for the Eagles’ two Super Bowl wins!,” Nick Foles posted to X shortly after Philadelphia’s Super Bowl LIX win over the Kansas City Chiefs. “He might be a good luck charm.”
Brady was the quarterback of the Patriots when he helped New England to Super Bowl LII against the Foles-led Eagles. The 47-year-old’s role was different on Sunday as Brady called Super Bowl LIX for FOX.
Despite Brady throwing for over 500 yards in Super Bowl LII, the Patriots fell to the Eagles for their first-ever Super Bowl title in a game that Foles completed a trick play and Brady didn’t.
Brady handed the ball off to James White in the second quarter who lateraled it to Danny Amendola who threw it down the sidelines to a wide-open Brady. But the quarterback didn’t catch the ball.
The Eagles tried their own trick play — the “Philly Special” — in the fourth quarter when Foles caught a pass from Trey Burton for a touchdown.
If the Eagles return to Super Bowl LX in 2026, they won’t have their good luck charm calling the game. NBC is set to broadcast the Super Bowl from Levi’s Stadium.
