‘This breaks my heart’: Instagram followers flood Charlie Kirk’s final post with daughter

In the wake of the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk while speaking at Utah Valley University, fans and supporters have taken to his social media accounts to express condolences.

Two weeks before his death, Kirk, who is survived by his wife, daughter and son, posted what would become his last post with his daughter.

The post, uploaded on Aug. 23 during his daughter’s birthday, features an image of the father and daughter playing in sand at the beach.

“Happy birthday to our incredible daughter. Teaching her to know God, alongside [Erika Kirk], is the greatest privilege,” the post reads.

The post’s comments have since been flooded with messages of support after Kirk’s death.

“This breaks my heart,” one user commented. “Poor babies have to grow up without their daddy now.”

“I keep thinking about these poor babies not having their dad anymore,” another user wrote.

Kirk died after being shot while hosting an event at the Utah college campus as part of his “The American Comeback Tour.” He was answering a question about gun violence when he was shot in the neck.

As of Thursday afternoon, the suspected shooter is still at large. The FBI released images of the person, looking for help identifying them.
