SOUTHWICK — After Chief Administrative Officer Nicole Parker proposed to the Select Board that it approve three new policies, one involving credit card use, another about town employee reimbursements, and establishing a new town event policy that she said was motivated by a fireworks show held in August by the Southwick Civic Fund at The Wick 338 with parking at Whalley Park.
“So, what really stemmed this was when, to me, the [Southwick] Civic Fund was having fireworks and I was the last to know,” Parker said during the board’s meeting Monday night.
“And so … I was like, there’s some way the Select Board should know what’s happening and what kind of impact we’re going to have … So it’s really just sort of an acknowledgement of that we know that something’s happening in town,” Parker said as the primary reason she proposed the policy.
