Weymouth’s Jillian Ondrick struck out five from the circle Bella Pires had the Wildcats’ only hit and RBI in the game.
Taunton will play No. 8 Bridgewater-Raynham in the quarterfinal round.
No. 3 King Philip (12), No. 14 Newton North (0)
Newton North fell to King Philip, 12-0, on the road in the Division I state tournament Round of 16 on Wednesday.
Brianna Arzuaga went 2-for-2 at the plate for the Tigers in the loss. Lizzie Marini got the team’s other hit.
King Philip will now play No. 6 Lincoln-Sudbury in the quarterfinals.
No. 4 Walpole (17), No. 13 Stoughton (0)
Walpole defeated Stoughton, 17-0, at home in the Division II state tournament Round of 16 on Wednesday.
Adrianna Torres led the way on offense for Walpole, going 1-for-2 with a run scored and two RBI. Sharlotte Stazinski got the win in the circle, striking out 10 in five innings of work.
The Timberwolves will now play No. 5 Westfield in the quarterfinal round.
No. 5 Westfield (3), No. 21 Somerset Berkley (0)
Westfield defeated Somerset Berkley, 3-0, in the Division II state tournament Round of 16 on Wednesday at home.
Westfield pitcher Shea Hurley finished with 13 strikeouts while only allowing three hits. Bombers freshman Jaylianie Santiago hit a solo home run and had a double with a RBI from the batter’s box.
The Bombers will now play No. 4 Walpole in the quarterfinals.
No. 7 Westwood (4), No. 10 Malden Catholic (3)
Westwood defeated Malden Catholic, 4-3, in walk-off fashion on Wednesday in the Division II state tournament Round of 16.
Westwood’s Izzy Walsh singled in the bottom of the seventh inning, bringing in the winning run. Bridget Mulkeen led the Lancers in the batter’s box, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and three RBI.
Westwood will play either No. 2 Hopkinton or No. 15 Marblehead in the quarterfinal round.
No. 1 Hampshire (14), No. 16 Clinton (1)
Top-seeded Hampshire defeated Clinton, 14-1, in the Division IV softball state tournament Round of 16 on Wednesday.
Teagan Charles drove in four runs on three hits to lead Hampshire in the batter’s box. Charles hit a home run to center field in the fifth inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the sixth inning, scoring two.
Ryanne Dubay struck out 13 batters on the day, only surrendering four hits and one run over six innings while walking one.
Hampshire will now play either No. 9 South Hadley or No. 8 Frontier in the quarterfinals.

Turners Falls got its only run on the board in the first inning, scoring on a passed ball. Madison Liimatainen struck out 14 in the win. Olivia Perry struck out 11 for the Blue Devils and got two hits on offense.
Turners Falls will play No. 9 Narragansett in the quarterfinal round.
No. 9 Narragansett (6), No. 8 Hopkins Academy (2)
Narragansett bested Hopkins Academy, 6-2, in the Division V state tournament Round of 16 matchup on Wednesday.
Cassandra Dion was credited for the Golden Hawks’ two runs while also tallying one hit. Margaret Potter chalked up a double, bringing in a run, and Cailie Edwards hit a single, all accounting for Hopkins Academy’s three hits against the Warriors.
Dion also pitched for the Golden Hawks, striking out five.
Hopkins Academy’s season comes to an end with a final record of 17-5.
No. 2 Greenfield (9), No. 15 Millis (1)
Greenfield defeated Millis, 9-1, at home in the Division V state tournament Round of 16 on Wednesday.
The Green Wave will now play No. 10 West Boylston in the quarterfinal round.

West Boylston took down Franklin County Tech, 6-3, in the Division V state tournament Round of 16 on the road Wednesday.
Following the loss, the Eagles end their season with a record of 18-5. West Boylston will now play No. 2 Greenfield in the quarterfinal round.

No. 6 Hoosac Valley (12), No. 11 Lenox (6)
Hoosac Valley defeated fellow Berkshire program, Lenox, 12-6, on Wednesday in the Division V state tournament Round of 16.
Leading the Hurricanes at bat was Trinity Brackett who hit two home runs and recorded six RBI. Hoosac Valley tallied 13 hits against the Millionaires, with Rachael Wnuk credited for a team-high four, with three singles and one double.
In the circle for the Hurricanes was Gracelyn Wright who allowed nine hits and struck out one.
For the Millionaires, Lilly MacDonald led with three hits, including a home run, and three RBI. Cassidy Flynn was the starting pitcher for Lenox, notching four strikeouts across 5.2 innings.
Hoosac Valley advances to the Round of 8, where it will face No. 3 Hopedale on a date and time to be announced.
