These are some of the names chosen by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for the 2024 “Name a Snowplow” contest.
Massachusetts students submitted a flurry of entries to name the 12 MassDOT snowplows that will be used this winter, the department said.
The contest was designed to celebrate the winter and recognize the hard work public employees and contractors do during the snowy season, the department added.
“Maintaining safe and clear roads across Massachusetts during winter is no easy task. We appreciate how educators are engaging their students in this fun competition that honors this vital public service,” Transportation Secretary and CEO Monica Tibbits-Nutt said in a statement. “Congratulations to the winning classrooms, and we look forward to seeing your snowplows out in the field.”
