Sandra Birchmore’s death was ‘extremely suspicious.’ How was it ruled a suicide?

When Canton police arrived at Sandra Birchmore’s apartment on Feb. 4, 2021, they found her seated on the floor with a scarf around her neck that had been tied tightly to a closet door handle.

Police observed no signs of a struggle inside her apartment, no signs of trauma on her head or any defensive wounds on her hands.
