Market Mentors, LLC, a marketing, advertising and public relations agency, recently welcomed Christina Hager as a public relations account executive. The two-time New England Emmy Award-winning television journalist recently wrapped a 25-year career with WBZ-TV (CBS Boston). In her new role at Market Mentors, she works with the marketing team to plan and execute communications strategies with a focus on media relations. This includes writing and distributing news releases, pitching story ideas, responding to media queries, preparing statements and developing content across various media platforms.
Hager, who recently relocated from Holliston to Granby, earned her bachelor’s degree from Colby College in Maine and her master’s degree from Northwestern University, Medill School of Journalism, in Illinois. She is a member of the Investigative Reporters and Editors.

Associated Industries of Massachusetts has promoted one member of its government-affairs staff and hired another.
AIM has promoted Magdalena Garncarz to vice president of government affairs. Garncarz joined AIM in the fall of 2023 and leads AIM’s advocacy in energy, environment and sustainability policy.
The association has also named Samiya Khalid as a policy analyst on its government affairs team. Khalid comes to AIM after receiving a Ph.D. in public policy from UMass Boston and having held numerous policy positions throughout Massachusetts, including as a policy fellow in Boston Mayor Michelle Wu’s office.
Garncarz served as an analyst for the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy in the Massachusetts state legislature. During her seven years with the committee, she worked on several key pieces of energy legislation.
Garncarz received her Bachelor of Arts degree from UMass Amherst, her Master of Arts degree. from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, and most recently an Offshore Wind Professional Certificate from The Clean Energy Extension at UMass Amherst.

Viability Inc. in Springfield has announced that Nicole Nelson, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Independent Living Services Program director, has received the 2024 Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers’ Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Award (DEIB).
Nelson has worked to recruit staff from across the country who were deaf or hard of hearing and fluent in American Sign Language, so that deaf individuals could be well-served, staging a simulation exercise where participants had to conduct routine activities without being able to speak verbally, and helping to draft Viability’s DEIB Leadership Statement.

Homework House in Holyoke has announced Dave Haslam as the new executive director of the organization. Haslam joined Homework House in June as the Volunteer Coordinator.
As executive director, Haslam aims to enhance the organization’s outreach efforts and develop new partnerships within the community to expand resources for students and their families.

PDC, Inc., a walls and ceiling contractor with offices in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York, announced the promotion of Tim L’Italien to director of estimating.
The change comes after L’Italien, a resident of Douglas, was hired as assistant chief estimator in July of this year. He joined PDC with 24 years of experience, including eight years leading a team of estimators.
L’Italien graduated from Worcester State University with a degree in urban studies nd from Northeastern University with a degree in construction management.
