For its upcoming tour, the legendary American-British rock band, Foreigner, will reunite with its original lead singer, Lou Gramm.
The tour is set in honor of Foreigner’s new album “Foreigner 4 Deluxe,” which will be released in September, according to a Wednesday, July 2 statement from the band.
The album celebrates the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers’ 50th anniversary, and will feature “extensive super deluxe editions” of the band’s 1981 multi-platinum album “4,” which features hits like, “Juke Box Hero,” “Break It Up,” “Luanne,” “Urgent,” and “Waiting For a Girl Like You.”
“Recording our fourth album took the better part of two years. It was something that just had to be right, and I truly believe that Mutt Lange, Lou [Gramm], Rick [Willis], Dennis [Elliot,] and I accomplished something very special,” Foreigner’s guitarist Mick Jones wrote in a statement. “This package, and particularly the stunning Atmos mixes, present a spectacular culmination of one of the most exciting periods of my life.”
Foreigner’s members, Luis Maldonado (lead vocals/guitar), Jeff Pilson (bass), Michael Bluestein (keyboars), Bruce Watson (guitars) and Chris Frazier (drums) will “celebrate half a century of music with a new round of headlining tour dates which will include original lead singer Lou Gramm guesting on some of the songs he helped create almost 45 years ago.”
“Earlier this year, we toured Mexico and South America with the incredible Lou Gramm. We all had such a fantastic time performing and being together, and it’s with that same excitement I look forward to working with Lou again,” Maldonado wrote. “He was an integral part of the writing and recording of the ‘Foreigner 4′ album and his presence will add a historic dimension into our forthcoming tour.”
