The Bruins have a lot of roster decisions to make this summer, and it appears they won’t be bringing back a bottom-six forward next season.
Jakub Lauko will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 and won’t be tendered a qualifying offer, his agent JP Barry told the Boston Herald’s Steve Conroy.
Lauko is one of a handful of restricted free agents the Bruins have going into free agency.
The 25-year-old was traded to Boston — his second stint with the team — in March by the Wild in a deal that included sending Justin Brazeau to the Minnesota, The Wild also sent Marat Khusnutdinov to the Bruins in the trade. Khusnutdinov, another RFA, signed a two-year extension with Boston on Sunday.
While Lauko’s numbers didn’t jump off the page (2 goals, 3 assists in 18 games for the Bruins), he became a fan favorite due to his physical style of play and not being afraid to drop the gloves.
