Prepare for flooding in 3 Massachusetts counties until 2 a.m. Saturday

A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 12:29 a.m. for flooding until 2 a.m. for Norfolk, Bristol and Plymouth counties.

“At 12:25 a.m., Doppler radar tracked a line of heavy downpours extending from Westerly RI to Brockton MA. These heavy downpours were slowly drifting to the northeast,” says the weather service. “Minimal. Water on roads that flood easily.”

Locations impacted by the alert include Providence, Brockton, Quincy, Fall River, Warwick, Cranston, Pawtucket, Taunton, Weymouth, East Providence, Braintree, Coventry, Cumberland, Randolph, North Providence, South Kingstown, West Warwick, Johnston, North Attleborough and Norwood.

The weather service states, “Do not drive through flooded roads or underpasses.”
