HOLYOKE — Shoppers entering the Holyoke Mall near Macy’s are greeted by a maze of orange cones, uneven gravel surfaces, puddles and the occasional stray shopping cart — all signs of a major makeover underway.
The mall is in the middle of a large-scale improvement project aimed at refreshing its exterior and upgrading parking areas. As of July 11, painting crews were focused on the section between 110 Grill and the red parking deck. At the same time, paving work has resumed in the yellow lot.
