The comedian Matt Rife took to social media over the weekend to announce that he and YouTuber Elton Castee were now the owners of the Ed and Lorraine Warren home and occult museum in Connecticut.
In an Instagram video, Rife said he and Castee now owned the home and museum and, as a result, became the “legal guardians” of hundreds of haunted artifacts and items at the home and museum, including Annabelle the doll. A rep for Rife told People Magazine the purchase was “legit.”
“If you follow ghost stuff, this is about as big as it gets,” the comedian said.
While he and Castee own the property, they don’t own the items, Rife clarified. He added that the pair would be the legal guardians and caretakers of the items for at least the next five years.
“What this means for you guys is you are going to soon be able to book a night, or a weekend, and stay at the Warren’s house and investigate the house and the history of the house, as well as the museum and all the artifacts inside of it,” Rife said. “This is the most random hobby ever, but it’s so [expletive] cool, man.”
“I should probably collect stamps or something. Might be a little safer,” he added.
Both the Warrens and Annabelle have been the subject of several films, including the “Conjuring” franchise.
It’s not the first time Rife and Castee have shown interest in getting their hands on paranormal history.
Earlier this year, Castee spoke to Burrillville Town Manager Michael Wood about the possibility of buying the Conjuring House, the Providence Journal reported.
“If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with the paranormal and all things haunted,” Rife wrote on Instagram.
