A man who police say was armed with a knife barricaded himself inside a home in Dover Friday morning, leading to a multiple-hour standoff with police.
Dover Police Department wrote on Facebook Friday afternoon that they received a report of an “unwanted person” at a home on Claybrook Road at about 11 a.m.
When officers arrived, they encountered the man and attempted to deescalate the situation, but the man barricaded himself in the home, according to the police department. The officers then requested backup and help from nearby departments.
