Police in Western Mass. arrest man in series of break-in and sexual assaults

Springfield police have arrested a man in connection with a series of break-ins and sexual assaults and are reminding the public to keep their doors and windows locked, the department said Friday.

Jason Patterson, 22, is accused of having entered strangers’ homes through unlocked windows, police said in a press release. Officers arrested him around 11:40 a.m. on Sunday, March 17, after receiving two reports of similar incidents.

“The Springfield Police are urging our residents to ensure their windows and doors are locked especially as it begins to get warmer so that no uninvited guests can enter your home,” the department wrote in the release.
