For the Panthers, it’s Sam Bennett. He played two games against the Lightning, but missed Game 1 on Monday. He had 20 goals and 21 assists during the regular season. He was scoreless against the Bruins in four regular season games this year, but had three goals and two assists against Boston in the playoffs last year.

Coincidentally, he missed he missed Game 1 last year with an injury too.

“He’s closing in. He’s close now. It’s one of the next three games for sure,” Panthers coach Paul Maurice said Tuesday. “It’s more doctors signing off, taking a look at it.”

He’s not a favorite among Bruins. When the teams played in March, he had matching roughing calls with Parker Wotherspoon and fought with Hampus Lindholm.
