NEW YORK — An NYPD cop died on his way to work when he veered off a Long Island parkway and struck a tree, according to the Police Benevolent Association and state police.

Officer Clifford Saintvil, 32, was driving his Nissan Rogue towards Queens on the Southern State Parkway when he crashed at 7:15 a.m. Sunday near exit 13 in Valley Stream.

The PBA union in an Instagram “final salute” posted pictures of officers outside NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island in Mineola, where medics rushed him before he died.

One picture showed an American flag suspended between two fire department trucks.

Santivil, who lived in Shirley, was assigned to the 113th Precinct in Queens.
