
Thursday is expected to bring warm, wet conditions throughout the state, with a chance of light snow overnight in some areas.
Morning fog and light rain showers will give way to a cloudy afternoon in most parts of the state, according to the National Weather Service, with high temperatures reaching the low 50s in Boston and the high 40s in Central and Western Massachusetts.
As temperatures dip into the 20s in the evening, snow showers could follow. The National Weather Service forecasts a 20-percent chance of snow showers after 8 p.m. in Boston, with similar forecasts for Worcester and Springfield. Any snow activity in those areas is expected to cease in the early morning hours, with little to no accumulation.
The Berkshires could see more significant precipitation, but still just a dusting. Rain showers are expected in Pittsfield throughout the day, with a chance it could turn to snow after 3 p.m. and continue, on and off, through the night. The National Weather Service forecasts less than a half inch of accumulation.
Cape Cod & the Islands will stay dry, with a high temperature of 48 during the day and a low of 21 overnight, with no rain or snow in the forecast. Wind gusts are expected to hit as high as 30 mph.
A cold front will drop temperatures significantly overnight, with Friday highs in the mid to low 30s across the state. Another round of light snowfall is expected Friday night, again with little to no accumulation, and scattered snow showers could continue through the weekend.
