
Temperatures are set to rise across the state on Wednesday and Thursday, but the milder weather will give way to a storm on Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Boston will sit in the low 40s with sunny skies today, reaching a high of 43 degrees. Central Massachusetts is looking at a high of 39, while the western part of the state will reach highs of 37 degrees.
Those mild conditions will maintain overnight with low temperatures in the mid 20s to low 30s across the state, and Thursday will bring sunshine and highs in the low-to-mid 40s for Western and Central Massachusetts. Boston could get as warm as 50 degrees.
Thursday night will see heavy rains, with precipitation continuing all day Friday. Winds will increase, with gusts up to 45 mph for much of the state. The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for Cape Cod & the Islands for Friday, as the coast will see sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to 55 mph.
The rain is set to slow Friday evening, with the National Weather Service predicting about 1 inch of rainfall, with 1 to 2 inches possible in areas that see more persistent downpours.
