Mass. trio orchestrated knifepoint robbery at New England casino, police say

Three Massachusetts residents attempted to rob a man at a New England casino at knifepoint, according to officials.

Before 1:45 a.m. on Dec. 29, two 19-year-olds lured a man from the casino floor to a hotel room at Bally’s Hotel Casino in Rhode Island. Once inside, a 28-year-old man from Worcester confronted the man, threatened him with a knife and took more than $1,500 in cash, according to the Lincoln Police Department.

The man was then allowed to leave and told to not contact authorities.

Officials identified the teenagers as Naushka A. Machuca, of Marlborough, and Tashawana Tuckta-Warner, of Boston. Machuca was charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy and disorderly conduct. Tuckta-Warner was charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy.

The man waiting in the hotel room was identified by police as 28-year-old Dominyck Sims. He was charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy, weapons other than firearms prohibited and disorderly conduct.

“The Lincoln Police Department encourages the public to remain vigilant and exercise caution when interacting with unfamiliar individuals,” the police department wrote on Facebook. “We remain committed to protecting the safety of our residents and visitors alike.”
