Mass. man killed after being hit by an SUV Sunday morning

A Hull man was fatally struck by an SUV in North Attleborough on Sunday morning, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III‘s office.

North Attleborough police learned a pedestrian had been hit by a car at 178 Commonwealth Ave. at 9:24 a.m. Sunday. When officers arrived, they found a 62-year-old man and rushed him to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, according to Quinn’s office.

The man, later identified as Daniel Stober, was then flown to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead roughly two hours after the crash, Quinn’s office said in a statement.

Stober was hit by a 2013 GMC Acadia being driven by a 24-year-old Attleboro man, who remained on scene, according to Quinn’s office. The Attleboro man, who was not identified, also attempted to provide medical aid to Stober.

Police interviewed the man and did not arrest him.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to Quinn’s office.
