A Cambridge man was arrested and charged with sex trafficking after leading police on a high-speed car chase, prosecutors say.
Daniel Rodriguez, 36, is accused of trafficking a woman across multiple states, including Massachusetts, Connecticut, Florida, Maine, New Jersey, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Rodriguez forced a 27-year-old woman to engage in commercial sex work beginning in 2025, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Massachusetts. When the woman attempted to leave in January 2026, Rodriguez posed as a customer in order to locate her, then forced her to return to Boston with him.
On Jan. 13, Rodriguez was transporting the victim in his car when police pulled him over for a traffic violation, according to authorities. Rodriguez then took off and led police on a pursuit that reached speeds above 100 mph.
Rodriguez crashed and left the scene on foot, leaving the injured woman in the car, according to prosecutors. He then sent an accomplice to pick up the woman at the hospital and advertised her for sex work within hours of being discharged, authorities said.
Rodriguez was arrested Jan. 14 and has been charged with one count of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion.
