Mass. coffee shop owner being sued for failure to pay months of rent, business loan

Peter Simpson, the owner of Haymarket Cafe in Northampton, is facing two lawsuits which accuse him of failing to pay a business loan and rent on an apartment above the business.

One lawsuit, filed on March 15 on behalf of Greenfield Savings Bank, accuses Simpson and Haymarket Cafe of failing to repay a business loan. The amount sought, as of March 8, is close to $20,000 for money lent and attorney’s fees and expenses, according to court records.
