Those who dine at a newly opened restaurant in Boston could be sipping on martinis and dining on caviar while sitting seaside.
The Block at Woods Hill, the sister restaurant of Woods Hill Pier 4, officially opened on Friday, June 27.
The nearly 3,000-square-foot space, located by the water in Seaport, offers several dining options. Guests can either grab a seat at the bar, snag a spot at the communal chef’s table, or reserve a table for a more private meal.
The restaurant’s dinner menu ranges from small tapas plates to larger dishes — all highlighting fresh seasonal ingredients.
Standout options include Pig’s Ear Tots, Lobster & ‘Nduja Pierogi and grilled tuna ribeye. Chef Charlie Foster created many of the small plates with the addition of caviar in mind, making for an elevated dining experience.
Meanwhile, The Block at Woods Hill‘s cocktail program is anchored by the “Block Party” — a $20 flight with three martinis: classic, savory and sweet. The flight also comes with a $9 rotating accompanying dish.
Other drink options include cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages and local beers from New England breweries.
Diners can round out their experience by getting soft serve ice cream in several rotating seasonal flavors for dessert.
But The Block at Woods Hill isn’t just a restaurant. The space includes a retail shop with a curated selection of artisanal products, handcrafted goods and locally sourced items from The Farm at Woods Hill and other small purveyors.
Those purveyors include Ronnybrook Farm dairy, Vermont Farmstead cheese, Goodnow Farms Chocolate, Bread Obsessions, Fat Moon Mushrooms and American Ferments Vinegars.
The Block at Woods Hill will also host classes with local guest chefs and authors starting in the fall.
The Block at Woods Hill is located at 300 Pier 4 Blvd. The retail shop is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday with dinner service starting at 5 p.m. each day.
