Man arrested in connection with double stabbing in downtown Worcester Sunday

A 32-year-old man is facing charges after he was arrested after two men were stabbed in downtown Worcester this weekend, Worcester police reported.

Officers responded to a reported stabbing near 97 Church St. around 11:10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27, police said. One officer, who was right around the corner when the call came in, saw two men matching the description given by dispatch.

One of the men, identified as Gage Beauchesne, of Main Street, had blood on him. Officers found a black folding knife on Beauchesne as well and detained him while they investigated.

It was later determined that Beauchesne had gotten into a fight with a group before stabbing two men, police said. Both were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Beauchesne was charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (Knife). He will be arraigned in court, police said.
