Life Time has bulked up its Boston presence by opening a massive new athletic club that is aimed at strengthening athletes’ connections, performance and recovery.
Life Time opened a nearly 60,000-square-foot location inside the Prudential Center at 800 Boylston St. on Friday.
The opening marks the seventh Life Time club in Massachusetts, joining other locations in Chestnut Hill, Medford, Burlington, Westwood, Framingham and Peabody. The fitness company also has a luxury apartment complex in Burlington.
Life Time Prudential is meant to be an epicenter for wellness with offerings ranging from more than 60 pieces of resistance equipment to recovery procedures, lounges and work spaces.
After completing a class, athletes can take advantage of the cold plunge, sauna or steam room in addition to infrared and red-light treatments. Members can recharge in one of the luxurious locker rooms or rejuvenation zones before grabbing a smoothie at the LifeCafe.
Some features are specific to the Prudential location. Fitness gurus will be happy to hear that the Prudential Life Time carries Kiehl’s products in the locker room showers, making it the sole athletic club in Boston to carry the brand, according to staff.
Those looking to get in an early morning workout will also be happy to hear that this Life Time validates parking from 3:45 to 9 a.m. weekdays and 5-10 a.m. on weekends. The club is open Monday through Thursday from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Memberships to Life Time Prudential start at $349 per month and are available for singles, couples and families. More information about memberships can be found online.
The new Life Time is located on the side of the Prudential Center closest to the Huntington Avenue entrance, near The Cheesecake Factory.
