Information available on clean energy installation credits, rebates (Letter)

Organizers of the recent (Sept. 27) Clean Energy Incentives program at Westfield State University have compiled a valuable online directory to help homeowners, businesses, and local governments find information on available federal, state, and local utility tax credits and rebates for more efficient energy upgrades.

Go to ForbesLibrary.org/pvlc and click on “Digital Resources.” This site will be continually updated as new rebates become formalized.

Right now, federal tax credits include updating electrical service, hot water heat pumps, induction stoves, weatherization, rooftop solar, electrical vehicles, mini-splits, and more. These are generally limited to $2,000 a year, but are to last 10 years. Federal rebates are expected to be determined before the end of this year, tailored to low-income and middle-income households.
