Former Springfield Central boys basketball star Hason Ward is competing in March Madness on Thursday night.
The former Golden Eagles big man and No. 2 Iowa State will try to defeat No. 3 Illinois in the Sweet 16 and earn a place in the Elite 8. If they win, the Cyclones will play either No. 1 UConn or No. 5 San Diego State in the next round.
