Holyoke invites proposals for federal community development funding

HOLYOKE — The city’s Office for Community Development is accepting applications for its 2026 Community Development Block Grant program, according to the office.

The grants are designed to fund projects that help people with low or moderate incomes, or to improve the neighborhoods where they live.

Groups can apply for money to support public services, housing, public facilities, infrastructure, or economic development.

Applications and guidelines can be found on the city’s website and Facebook page.

Programs that have never received this funding are advised to speak with city staff before applying to make sure they meet federal rules.

Staff can meet online to help with proposals, the office said.

Applications from past years will not be accepted. Funding will cover projects from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The city does not yet know how much money it will receive from the federal government, the office said.
