High wind watch issued for Berkshire County for Wednesday and Thursday

On Tuesday at 2:22 a.m. a high wind watch was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Wednesday 5 a.m. until Thursday 3 a.m. for Berkshire County.

“East winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph possible,” comments the weather service. “The strongest wind gusts are likely Wednesday afternoon into the evening.”

“Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” adds the weather service. “Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates on this situation. Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe location prior to the onset of winds.”

Advance Local Weather Alerts is a service provided by United Robots, which uses machine learning to compile the latest data from the National Weather Service.
