A second Great Wolf Lodge in New England is set to open even earlier than originally expected.
In 2024, the indoor water park announced people will be able to enjoy the 13 slides and a wave pool in Mashantucket, Connecticut starting at the end of May. However, the date has since been moved up.
Now, the 92,000 square-foot indoor water park will open on May 9.
It will be located on 13 acres adjacent to the Foxwoods Resort Casino. There will be 549 rooms available at the lodge.
“The indoor water park is the marquee attraction at every Great Wolf Lodge Location,” the company said in a press release.
“… Families across the Northeast will soon be able to bask in the year-round 84-degree indoor water park as well as delight in a multitude of family-friendly attractions, experiences and entertainment offerings at the resort.”
The resort will also feature a zero-entry outdoor pool, hot tub and “luxurious” cabana section. It is always kept at 84 degrees.
The Connecticut location will be one of two in New England. The other location is in Fitchburg.
In celebration of its grand opening, Great Wolf Lodge is offering a discount of up to 40% off for those who book their stay before March 2.
Hotel stays are still open for opening day with rates starting around $335 per night.
The resort is expected to create more than 500 jobs, the company said. It is part of a partnership agreement with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.
The hiring events will be on March 13-26 at Westgate Plaza in Norwich, Connecticut. The roles will include lifeguarding, attractions, front desk and housekeeping.
