Agawam – The public is invited to attend the quarterly meeting of the Friends of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Agawam on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The meeting will be held at the Agawam Senior Center, 954 Main St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
The meeting will include discussions of the following upcoming events: Billy Eagan and The Rising Fundraiser on Oct. 15; Memorial Brick & Bench Dedication on Oct. 22; Wreaths Across America Sponsorship Campaign; National Wreaths Across America Day on Dec. 16; Nomination and election of Directors for 2024.
The Friends is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that raises funds to enhance the hallowed grounds at the cemetery and to honor to the Veterans interred there.
Attendees are welcome to arrive early and get acquainted prior to the start of the meeting and socialize with other ‘Friends.”
